Subject: Welcome to Session 2 Aquatics Camp!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I'm excited to welcome you to the 2025 Aquatic Camp season!

For those who are new to camp, welcome and my name is Lily Consiglio. This is my fifth year with the camp staff, and my second year as director. On behalf of the Aquatic Camp staff, we are very excited to meet you all and are looking forward to a great season

Camp Information:

Drop off: 9:30am/1:30pm at South side of Burnham Shores Park Tennis Courts

Pick up: 12:30pm/4:30pm at  South side of Burnham Shores Park Tennis Courts

Session 2: 6.30.25 - 7.18.25

The first times listed above are for the AM session, while the second times are for the PM session.

A few reminders for parents:

  1. Please read the parent camp manual if you have not done so already. I've attached it below and it is vital to smooth operations for caregivers to be aware of the City of Evanston camp policies and procedures.

  2. All ePACT forms MUST be completed and uploaded into ePACT by Friday June 7th at midnight. We want to have a fun, smooth, and safe summer, but we cannot do that without all forms being completed. Campers will not be allowed to come to camp if forms are not done.

  3. Weather conditions at the lake are usually 10 degrees cooler than your house. With that said, please send your camper dressed accordingly. Weather updates can be found on rainoutline.com or the COE twitter account.

  4. If you are picking your camper up before 12:30 PM please email lakefrontcamps@cityofevanston.org prior to doing so.

First day of camp:

  1. On the first day, campers will learn about camp etiquette, safety precautions, expectations, and rules.

  2. The swim test will be the first day of camp (weather permitting). In order for campers to be allowed in the water they must pass the 50 yard swim test. Campers will have numerous attempts to do so. Please have campers prepared with a towel and swimsuit on prior to arrival.

Changes over the past two summers:

  1. Only adults listed in ePACT can check campers in and out. We will have counselors stationed around the Dempster driveway with tablets to do so. Campers can only leave without parent sign outs if they are listed to be able to do so in ePACT.

  2. We will have a blue tent set up if anyone is having trouble finding the meeting location. As check-in now happens during drop off, not after announcements, we ask that campers arrive for check-in a few minutes prior to the start time.

  3. We have a lot of new equipment this summer. One being a new motor boat! We also have brand new paddleboards, kayaks, and a see-through canoe! In order to keep the equipment nice we ask that campers respect the equipment and follow the rules.

Safety:

Safety is our number one priority this summer (next to having fun), therefore we cannot accomplish that without full commitment from our parents and guardians. We ask that campers come to camp on time and are picked up on time, as well as, with sunscreen already applied and a full water bottle. As a reminder, camp counselors cannot apply sunscreen. If a snack is brought, we ask for it to not contain any kind of nuts. The weather can be unpredictable, so we ask that campers are dressed for the weather. Camp will happen everyday regardless of the weather, it will just look differently. If there is lightning or dangerous weather conditions, we will be inside the Dempster Street Beach Office lifeguard room playing various games and activities.

You can contact me via email lconsiglio@cityofevanston.org or cell at 619-607-9920. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, or comments!

I'm looking forward to a great summer and I'm excited to meet you all!

Day of Prayer!

Every year in May, as another summer on Royal Servants is quickly approaching, Bethany and I set aside one day to get off the crazy train and just spend a day in prayer. We make a point to pray for each of our students, staff, and leaders on our summer team, and we also make a point to pray for each of our supporters and any specific requests they may have.

Our "Day of Prayer" this year is Tuesday, May 13th. We want to invite you to pray with us throughout the day (you don't have to set aside the whole day) and ask God's blessing over our ministry and the summer ahead of us.  Also, we'd love to pray for any requests you have, so send them our way!  Email Bethany at bhammond@reignministries.org your prayer requests, and they will most certainly be prayed for.

Happy praying!

Job preaching on God's Will

Although our job takes us all over the world, we love spending time at our home church, Evanston Bible Fellowship.  Click here to hear Job's sermon this week on God's Will.
